THCa diamonds: what they are and how Freezo uses them
Updated October 2, 2026
THCa diamonds are crystals of THCa that separate out of a concentrated plant extract. The name comes from how they look: clear, hard, faceted pieces sitting in the liquid they formed in.
Freezo does not sell THCa diamonds on their own. As of October 2, 2026, its concentrates are 10 2g live rosin listings. Where diamonds show up at Freezo is in the name of its diamond coated flower: 10 strains, each sold in 1g and 4g sizes.
This guide explains what diamonds are, how they compare with isolate and sauce, what live resin diamonds and diamond dust mean, and how to read a Freezo diamond coated flower listing and its lab document.
What THCa diamonds are
THCa is the acid precursor of THC. When a producer makes a concentrated extract, much of that THCa is carried into it. Under the right conditions, the THCa in the extract comes out of solution and grows into crystals. Those crystals are what the market calls THCa diamonds.
So a diamond is not a separate plant compound. It is THCa in a crystal form, pulled out of an extract. For how THCa relates to THC, see THCa vs THC.
How diamonds form in an extract
- A producer makes an extract from the plant. It can be a live resin, made with a solvent, or a live rosin, made without one.
- The extract is held under controlled conditions so the THCa can come out of solution.
- THCa crystals grow in the extract. The liquid left around them carries most of the aromatic compounds.
- The producer separates the crystals from that liquid, or sells the two together.
The starting extract matters because it is where the crystals come from. For how live rosin and live resin differ, see live rosin vs live resin.
Diamonds vs isolate, and diamonds with sauce
Diamonds and isolate are both mostly THCa, but they are made and sold differently.
| Term | What it is | How it is usually sold |
|---|---|---|
| Diamonds | THCa crystals that grew out of an extract | As crystals, on their own or with sauce |
| Isolate | THCa refined through further processing until little else remains | As a powder or fine crystal |
| Sauce | The liquid left in the extract after the crystals form | Together with diamonds, often called diamonds and sauce |
The short version: isolate is about refining THCa down to a single compound, while diamonds are about the crystals an extract grows. Sauce is the part of the extract that stays liquid.
Live resin diamonds and diamond dust
- Live resin diamonds are diamonds that grew out of a live resin extract. Live resin starts from fresh frozen plant material and is extracted with a solvent.
- Live rosin diamonds are the same idea from a live rosin extract, which is solventless.
- Diamond dust is a name for diamonds broken into small grains, which makes them easier to spread or roll onto something.
Freezo's own concentrates are live rosin. Its listings describe live rosin as a solventless, fresh frozen extract.
What diamond coated flower is
Diamond coated flower, also searched as diamond infused flower or THCa diamond flower, is flower with a concentrate layer on the outside. At Freezo, the diamond coated listings describe the product as flower finished with a THCa-rich outer layer. Uncoated flower is the same kind of product without that layer.
Read the description on the product page you are buying. For a side by side of the two kinds of flower, see coated vs uncoated THCa flower.
Freezo diamond coated strains
Freezo lists 10 THCa diamond coated strains. Every one comes in 1g and 4g, listed at $10 for 1g and $38 for 4g on October 2, 2026.
| Strain | Freezo lists it as | Sizes |
|---|---|---|
| Breath Mintz | Not stated | 1g, 4g |
| Carbon Steel | Hybrid | 1g, 4g |
| Frozay | Hybrid | 1g, 4g |
| Frozen Runtz | Indica | 1g, 4g |
| Glacial Freeze | Sativa | 1g, 4g |
| Iced Apples | Sativa | 1g, 4g |
| Polar Purp | Indica | 1g, 4g |
| Slurricane | Hybrid | 1g, 4g |
| Snowcone | Sativa | 1g, 4g |
| White Out | Indica | 1g, 4g |
Choosing a size is simple. The 1g is a way to try a strain. The 4g works out to $9.50 a gram against $10 for the 1g. Every diamond coated strain has the same price per size, so the choice between strains comes down to the strain itself. All 30 Freezo flower strains, coated and uncoated, are on the THCa flower strains page, and prices by size are on THCa flower prices.
Lab reports and how to match a lot
Freezo publishes lab documents on its Lab Results page, which searches by product name or recorded reference.
- Find the report for the product you bought, by name or reference.
- Check the product name, the product format and the lot or sample reference on the report against the packaging in hand.
- Do not stop at the name. A matching product name on its own is not a match.
- A laboratory sample reference is not always the same number as the batch code printed on a package.
Format matters on this page in particular. A report for a strain's live rosin is not a report for the same strain's diamond coated flower.
Buying diamond coated flower
Freezo sells to adults 21 and older, and age is verified at checkout. Shipping terms are on the Shipping and Payment page.

Questions and answers
What are THCa diamonds?
THCa diamonds are crystals of THCa that separate out of a concentrated plant extract. They are THCa in a crystal form, not a separate compound.
How are THCa diamonds made?
A producer makes an extract, such as a live resin or a live rosin, and holds it under controlled conditions. THCa comes out of solution and grows into crystals, which are then separated from the remaining liquid or sold with it.
What is the difference between THCa isolate and diamonds?
Isolate is THCa refined through further processing until little else remains, usually sold as a powder. Diamonds are the crystals that grow out of an extract, sold on their own or with the liquid they formed in, called sauce.
What are live resin diamonds?
Diamonds that grew out of a live resin extract. Live resin starts from fresh frozen plant material and is extracted with a solvent.
What is diamond coated flower?
Flower with a concentrate layer on the outside. Freezo's diamond coated listings describe it as flower finished with a THCa-rich outer layer. Each product page has its own description.
Which Freezo strains are diamond coated?
Breath Mintz, Carbon Steel, Frozay, Frozen Runtz, Glacial Freeze, Iced Apples, Polar Purp, Slurricane, Snowcone and White Out. Each comes in 1g and 4g, listed at $10 for 1g and $38 for 4g on October 2, 2026.
Does Freezo sell THCa diamonds on their own?
No. As of October 2, 2026, Freezo's concentrates are 10 2g live rosin listings, and the word diamond appears only in the name of its diamond coated flower.
